Truly the "Life of the Party"

Stop_signs_2Pro-life Republicans truly are the Life of the Party.  Since atleast the first Reagan campaign for President, pro-lifers have called the Republican Party their home.  Often it is the issue that draws us to the Republican Party in the first place, but inevitably we find ourselves championing other Republican causes as well.  It is only natural that the same conviction that compels us to stand up for the unalienable Right to Life, also compels us to stand up for other rights and issues of Liberty and Justice.

In addition, pro-lifers are the foot soldiers for Republican candidates during campaign season.  We doorbell our precincts, volunteer hours in phone banks, put up signs in our yards, bumper stickers on our cars and encourage our friends to do the same.  We even work to persuade our friends to vote for Republicans.  We have proven to make the difference in Republican victories.  Yet often we are duped into putting all of our energies into the campaigns of candidates who have no intention of doing anything to make abortion illegal.   It has been said that the "Republican Party (leadership) treats pro-lifers like Democrats treat African-Americans".  They know they can't survive without our help and our votes, but do very little to help our cause.

Life of the Party, hosted by Michelle McIntyre, a pro-life Republican activist and long-time PCO (Precinct Committee Officer), is being launched this September 2006, with two goals in mind: 1) To inform pro-lifers in Washington State of where the candidates stand on the pro-life issues, early enough in the campaign season, that you aren't duped into supporting the establishment's choice, rather than letting them hear from you who your choice is in the primary and 2) To make the case to the Republican Party as a whole, that we must stand up for the unalienable Right to Life because it is a winning issue when presented correctly, but most of all, because it is the right thing to do!

Welcome to Life of the Party!

The Republican Party at its founding was a champion of the moral issue of the day.

Lincheadthumb_1Consider this: "The Republican Party was founded on the principle that no human being should be considered the property of another."--RNC for Life  Protecting the Right to Life is the moral issue of our day that must be addressed in order for our Party and our Nation to survive.

The heart of America is realizing this, as was evidenced in the last presidential election.  Yet the contemporary wisdom of our Republican leadership echoes the rhetoric of the pro-abortion-choice Republicans who've declared a "battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party".  They tell us, we must focus on the issues that unite us (which they assert are the economic issues), and not the issues that "divide" us.

Life of the Party will make the case for keeping the party pro-life and holding Republican office holders and candidates accountable to our platform.
