Dino Rossi has long enjoyed the support of pro-life Catholics in his previous campaigns. Despite his dodging the questions on abortion and other life issues, his pro-life Catholic supporters have trusted that his vague references to his Catholic faith and campaign buzz phrase that "every soul has value" were sufficient enough to earn their support.
But towards the end of his last Gubernatorial campaign, he revealed something about his voting record that received hardly any notice at all. It's time his pro-life supporters take another look. In 2002, Dino Rossi was one of only a few Republicans to vote for SB 6537, a bill that requires hospitals (even Catholic hospitals) to provide chemical abortifacient drugs to victims of sexual assault.
Dino says he believes "every soul has value", but what about the souls of the smallest and vulnerable ones? And he assures us that he will "vote his conscience" if the issue of life comes up for a vote, but what does this say about his conscience (in direct opposition to his Catholic faith) and what about the consciences of physicians and other health care workers who conscientiously oppose this life threatening drug
